Be available everywhere. All the time...
...provided there's an Internet connection and either a Symbian 8 or 9, Windows Mobile 5 or 6 or UIQ handset is at your hand.
"fring™ is a mobile internet service & community that enables you to access & interact with your social networks on-the-go, make free calls and live chat with all your fring, Skype®, MSN® Messenger, Google Talk™, ICQ, SIP, Twitter, Yahoo!™ and AIM®* friends using your handset’s internet connection rather than costly cellular airtime minutes.
Bringing PC-benefits to the mobile, fring will empower you with mobility and availability as never before, integrating all contacts in to one, searchable buddy list, allowing you to see who’s online before dialing with contact availability indicators, engage in multiple conversations simultaneously, send & receive files and more."
Doesn't that sound awefully useful? I'll give it a try and let you know if it's worth jumping on it.
No way, this guy published another picture of me...
City!N, a Chinese social network launched a features that it hopes will differentiate it from the masses: face detection.
The tool draws a box around any faces it finds in pictures uploaded to the site. Users can then tag the face by typing identifying information into a database. They can then automatically share a photo with that friend’s face, since the social network can dispatch an alert to the friend saying a photo of them has been uploaded, said Simon Chan, co-founder of City!N.
Isn't that wonderful! It is - if you're willing to pay the price of leaving biometric data with City!N...
More bad news...
